Continuing Resolution is Delayed
The House delayed a Sept. 12 vote on a continuing resolution, which would extend funding for all federal programs, including public transportation programs. The government will need new funding on Oct. 1 to prevent a shutdown, as the appropriations for the current fiscal year ends on Sept. 30.
APTA's Transit Savings Report Finds Big Savings for Riders
Riding public transportation saves individuals $10,122 a year, according to APTA's latest Transit Savings Report. Individuals who ride public transportation can save, on average, more than $844 this month.
