THUD Bills Won't Pass Before Congress Recesses
|

This week, the House began, and the Senate continued,
consideration of their respective FY 2014 Transportation, Housing
and Urban Development (THUD) appropriations bills. Each includes funding for FTA programs. Members left Washington, DC, for the August recess without passing these bills. The bills could be taken up again before Sept. 30, the end of the current fiscal year. If Congress is unable to pass individual appropriations bills before the start of FY14, it is likely to enact a short-term Continuing Resolution. This would fund the government for a few months, before finalizing full-year
appropriations. |

After the Bay Bridge, which connects Oakland to San Francisco, was closed down briefly, Hamilton took the train in full uniform to make it just in time for the game.
